Una nueva interfase, que interpreta las ondas del cerebro y permite interactuar directamente con software, ha sido desarrollada por la empresa emotiv, que textualmente indica de su producto, denominado Project Epoc  :

Project Epoc is a headset that uses a set of sensors to tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain to detect player thoughts, feelings and expression. It connects wirelessly with all game platforms from consoles to PCs. Project Epoc now makes it possible for games to be controlled and influenced by the player’s mind.

Engaging, immersive, and nuanced, Emotiv-inspired game-play will be like nothing ever seen before.

El objetivo de la empresa es, como ellos dicen en su página de presentación:

Emotiv is creating technologies that allow machines to take both conscious and non-conscious inputs directly from your mind.”

Emotiv tiene varios productos dsarrolaldos en esta línea, enmarcados en lo que denominan Emotiv Development Kit (EDK™). Asi tiene The Expressiv™ suite que interpreta las expresiones faciales en tiempo real. La Affectiv™ suite que interpreta las emociones del usuario. La Cognitiv™ suite que lee e interpreta los pensamientos conscientes, todo ello orientado al espacio lúdico: “Gamers can manipulate virtual objects using only the power of their thought! El futuro virtual cada vez es mas intresante. Estoy deseando ver la integración de est sistema, o el de otro equivalente con mi mundo virtual favorito.
